1. The App Collects No Data

When you use Carrots (the Windows application), we do not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal information.

Specifically, the app does not:

• Collect analytics or telemetry
• Track how you use the app or which features you use
• Access, read, or transmit your file names, folder paths, or file contents
• Require an internet connection
• Require an account, login, or email address
• Collect crash reports or error logs sent to us
• Include any third-party tracking or advertising SDKs

Your files and folders are accessed locally on your device to power the browsing, preview, and file management features. None of this information leaves your computer.

If you contact us through our website, email, or support channels, we may receive the information you choose to provide (such as your message or email address). That information is used only to respond to you.

2. The Website Uses Google Analytics

Our website (carrots-app.com) uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data including pages visited, time spent on site, browser type, operating system, and general geographic location (city/country level). This data helps us improve our website. We do not collect personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it by contacting us via email or feedback form.

We use this data to understand whether our marketing is working and which pages are useful. We do not use it to identify individual users or track you across other websites.

If you prefer not to be tracked on the website, you can use a browser extension like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger, or use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

3. Information We Don't Collect

We do not collect any of the personal information categories listed below. This list is provided for transparency and compliance with US state privacy laws.

The following applies to the Carrots app specifically, not our website analytics described in Section 2:

• Names, email addresses, or contact information (from the app)
• Payment or financial information (no payments currently accepted)
• File names, folder paths, or file contents
• Feature usage or in-app analytics
• Device identifiers or hardware information (from the app)
• Precise location data (from the app)
• Any sensitive personal information

4. Local File Processing

Carrots accesses files, folders, file names, folder paths, and file metadata on your device solely to provide its file browsing, navigation, preview, search, and file management features. This processing happens entirely on your device. No file information is uploaded, sold, or shared with Carrots LLC or any third party.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. In limited circumstances, we may share information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or in connection with a business acquisition of Carrots LLC.

6. Future Paid Plans

When Carrots moves to a paid model, payment processing will be handled by a third-party payment processor (such as Lemon Squeezy). At that point, we will collect the minimum information necessary to process your subscription. We will update this policy before any paid plans launch.

7. Data Retention

Since we collect no personal data from the app, there is nothing to retain or delete on our end. If you have contacted us by email or support, we retain that correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your issue.

8. Children's Privacy

Carrots is a general-purpose file browser. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. Since the app itself collects no data, this is largely moot. If you believe we have inadvertently received information from a minor, please contact us at support@carrots-app.com.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Because the Carrots app collects no personal information, most data privacy rights have nothing to act on from the app. For any information you've voluntarily sent us (support emails, etc.), you can request we delete it by emailing support@carrots-app.com. We comply with applicable data protection laws.

10. Updates to This Policy

We will update this policy if our data practices change — particularly if we begin collecting any data from the app. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
